About Lark Custom Knives & Engraving
I get asked quite often how I started this business. In 1988 I was teaching a gunsmithing class at a local college in Trinidad, CO. One of my students was a knife maker and he was giving classes. I loved it. I then built my first knife. I found it so relaxing and it went along with my custom rifle making. Engraving started in 2006 so I could become a sole proprietor. Then the jewelry making began.
Lark Custom Knives & Engraving is owned and operated right here in Kingsley, MI. I use all types of steel, including Damascus for my knives & jewelry. I use many stones found on local beaches to add to my pendants.
I am also a partner in SDL Precision. SDL Precision, makers of the "RinGenie", was formed by engravers and stone setters, for engravers and stone setters. Our mission is to provide the best quality American Made products in the world. We strive to bring innovative tooling to this industry.
